Donkey Kong Country review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Donkey Kong Country for the Game Boy Color developed by Rare and published by Nintendo.

Originally released in 1994, Donkey Kong Country is widely considered one of the best platformers ever made. It also helped Nintendo’s Super NES finally surpass SEGA’s Genesis in the 16-bit “console wars,” and six years later, it finally came to handhelds. This 2000 release is a faithful port, and while it does feature some differences in level design, it’s as close to the original graphically as possible. It’s an impressive piece of development from that perspective, although long-time fans of the game will notice stiffer gameplay and a smaller viewing window. Help Donkey Kong and his friends regain their stolen bananas in this all-time Nintendo classic! This version also includes added minigames. Donkey Kong Country features single-player and local multiplayer play on the Game Boy Color.

This video review features video gameplay footage of Donkey Kong Country for the Game Boy Color and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
