Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Gradius Galaxies for the Game Boy Advance developed by Mobile21 and published by Konami.
Gradius Galaxies is a side-scrolling shoot 'em up based in outer space. Of course, it's also a Gradius game, so you already knew that. Gradius Galaxies was a Game Boy Advance exclusive that marked the series first appearance on a Nintendo handheld since the original Game Boy a decade earlier. The game also served as a kind of refresh to the Gradius formula, though most in terms of appearance. And even then, not by much. It's the same old-school Gradius you know and love, only with some current touches to atone for the series' past brutality. Game saves mean you never have to start over completely, and unlimited continues provide a huge sigh of relief for most of us. Unless you're Vic Viper.
