Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Spelunker for the Nintendo Entertainment System developed by MicroGraphicImage and published by Brøderbund.

Spelunker is a cave-exploring platform game. You play as a daring spelunker, obviously, who decides to brave the depths below to find a legendary treasure. Since profiting is never easy, there are also ghosts, pooping bats and other deadly perils to deal with. Spelunker involves dangerous platforming from ledge to ledge, hopping over deep chasms and riding on rusted mine carts. The game is a blast, but it's also notorious for its touchy mechanics. Falling just a few pixels will kill you, and if you're not patient, the game can just be one chep death after another. Spelunker can be incredibly frustrating, but patient players are rewarded with an awesome gameplay experience. Spelunker is also available on Nintendo's Virtual Console for the Wii, Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.

This video review features video gameplay footage of Spelunker for the Nintendo Entertainment System and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
