Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Mobile Light Force for the PlayStation developed by Psikyo and published by XS Games.

Mobile Light Force is a shoot 'em up with some bizarre characteristics. Actually, it's a shoot 'em up with a lot of bizarre characteristics. It was originally released as Gunbird in Japan, but when the game was ported to the PlayStation, its name was changed and it got three hot chicks on the cover. Even though they're not even in game. Bizarre characteristics, right? Nonetheless, the core game is a very good SHMUP any bullet hell lover should appreciate. Each of the five characters plays a bit differently and has their own special attacks, which allows players to choose a character that suits their play style. The boss battles, in particular, are also of note. They're so large, there's a brief load time before the battle. This isn't the best port in the world, but since Gunbird was a great SHMUP, so is Mobile Light Force.

This video review features video gameplay footage of Mobile Light Force for the PlayStation and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
