Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of MLB 2K13 for the Xbox 360 developed by Visual Concepts and published by 2K Sports.

Baseball fans don't have much of a choice for licensed MLB games these days. There are only two main choices on the PlayStation 3, and on the Xbox 360 side, there's just MLB 2K13. From 2K Sports, MLB 2K13 maintains the gameplay and structure of prior MLB 2K games, which it took criticism for. The game features a complex pitching system essentially based on minigames. Players choose a pitch, and its effectiveness is based on how well they draw a line with the right analog stick. Unique, but like pitching, it's also skill-based. Pitch effectiveness is also dynamic, so the more a pitch gets hit, the lower its effectiveness. MLB 2K13's primary features are its Exhibition, Season and played-based My Player modes. There's also a home run derby, for those who just prefer to do some bopping. The game isn't as polished as Sony's The Show, but it does offer a solid alternative for PS3 fans. MLB 2K13 is a single and multiplayer baseball game.

This video review features video gameplay footage of MLB 2K13 for the Xbox 360 and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
