Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Neo Turf Masters for Neo-Geo developed by Nazca Corporation and published by SNK.
Before the monolith that is the Golden Tee series took up residence in every bar known to man, arcade golf was the domain of Nazca Corporation's Neo Turf Masters for the old Neo-Geo MVS cabinets. Rather than the trackball, though, this offering uses the standard joystick + Four Button layout for shot targetting, stroke strength, and getting the ball IN THE HOLE. The developers of the Metal Slug series produced Neo Turf Masters shortly after becoming disgruntled and leaving R-Type creators Irem, proving that just because you're known for action-packed arcade shooters (or tactical RPGs, in the case of Camelot), doesn't mean you don't have a quality golf game up your short, polo-shirt sleeve.
