Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of the arcade game Plump Pop from Taito. Released to arcades in 1987, Plump Pop is basically a prettier version of the 1977 arcade game Circus, which was largely inspired by the 1976 classic Breakout, which was heavily influenced by Pong. The take-home lesson is that Plump Pop isn't very original...well, that and that every game is basically a rip-off of Pong. More specifically, Plump Pop is a clone of games like Breakout and Arkanoid, only with bizarre Japanese aesthetics. This video review features video gameplay footage of the arcade game Plump Pop and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
