The original Playstation and Spyro the Dragon was a match made in Heaven. So for the sequel, Insomniac Games had a pretty big task to live up to, and they did so in wonderful style. Spyro is taken away to the land of Avalar, a completely new realm that is his to explore. This makes the game not feel like more of the same as each level is completely original with new characters and enemies. Spyro needs to collect magical items in order to fight Ripto, a mean little wizard. You explore the different levels however you want, completing challenges to earn items. You also have enemies to deal with and plenty of gems to collect. The game keeps the charm of the original, with great writing and funny characters, and also retains the great gameplay to make a game that is a great follow up to an all time classic.
