Tidalis takes the basic template of the falling-block puzzle game - known to gamers around the world and elaborated on since time immemorial - and does things never before seen. By directing colored streams throughout the stack of blocks and hitting three or more of a given color, they disappear, potentially causing chain reactions... and then it just gets completely absurd, adding in a water level so buoyancy must be taken into consideration, bubbles, water balloons, turnips, weird monster things that eat everything (except turnips)... the list goes on.
