Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of MLB 07: The Show for the PlayStation 3 developed and published by Sony.
MLB 07: The Show was the first version of Sony's popular baseball simulator to release for both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 2 simultaneously, bringing the franchise into the HD era. As with most annual gaming series, the core gameplay is the same realistic take on Major League Baseball that The Show is known for. This version also marked the debut of the Road to the Show mode, which allows players to create a player and guide him to the Big Leagues, as well as a new pitch command system that provides a more in-depth experience on the mound. Umpires have also been given individual personalities, an interesting addition that results in different strikes zones depending on who's behind the plate. MLB 07: The Show features the familiar announce team of Rex Hudler, Matt Vasgersian and Dave Campbell. The game featured local and extensive online multiplayer options.
