Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Wooden Sen’Sey on the eShop for the Nintendo Wii U developed by Upper Byte Studio and published by Neko Entertainment.

If you like old-school platformers, you’re probably going to like Wooden Sen’Sey. This action platformer is inspired by the greats, combining retro sensibilities and a modern style. You play as Goro, the chief of a village that’s been robbed by aliens. Obviously, it’s time for vengeance. Goro platforms through nine beautiful worlds on his quest, all the while slashing through enemies with his axes and chains. Goro can use them like a grappling hook, similar to Bionic Commando, and he can also pound the ground with them. Wooden Sen’Sey features lots of combat, emphasizing the “action” part of action platformer. Wooden Sen’Sey is a single-player game.

This video review features video gameplay footage of Wooden Sen’Sey on the eShop for the Nintendo Wii U and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
