At least the sewers in Chained Echoes have looked cool, so it's not so gross being down in them :P In this episode, we're escaping the castle through our beloved sewers, stopping off to throw water at a statue along the way. And because this is a fantasy world, instead of getting stared at and thrown out of the park like happens if you do that where I live, we unlock our first class emblem! And that's far from the only game system we unlock in this episode as we run through the city one last time, presumably still smelling of sewer: We're learning about Final Fantasy XII-esque selling junk to trigger special deals, how to upgrade weapons and armor and attach crystals to them (because it wouldn't be a fantasy game without crystals), the functions of the Adventurer's Guild, how to fast travel via a different kind of crystals, and all about the reward board, which gives rewards for completing tasks that I will absolutely put too much time into completing even though I'm definitely not a completionist. Not at all... Gotta do it...
