Before we can enter the Tower of Salvation in Tethe'alla, we need to get Zelos's Cruxis Crystal. It's being held by his sister, Seles, in the SE Abbey. She's cold to Zelos, but also secretly care about him, though he doesn't seem to realize it.
At Zelos's mansion, we learn that the Pope kidnapped Princess Hilda, and he wants Zelos in exchange for her. Strangely, he doesn't ask for Colette despite previously wanting to kill her. I guess he figures she's no longer worth killing now that the tower is back in Tethe'alla and his primary goal was always to kill Zelos for opposing him politically.
At the Tethe'alla Bridge, we attempt the exchange, but Zelos realizes that the hostage is actually Kate. We bring Kate back to the mansion to get treatment and then hightail it to Gaoracchia Forest, where we finally capture the Pope once and for all. As a reward, Zelos gets a new title and we can get some costumes in the future.
At Altamira, Presea can get the Klonoa costume.
At Palmacosta Ranch, you can conclude Yuan's ring sidequest, where it's revealed Martel is his fiancé.
At Sybak, you can do a sidequest where Zelos hires a poor mother and child to work at his mansion.
At Heimdall, you can learn about Noishe's identity as a Protozoan.
Make sure you're ready before going into the Tower of Salvation, since you'll be locked in after fighting the boss here. I highly recommend getting Luin's joke weapons for your physical fighters if you haven't done so already.
[ 34:15 ] Boss: Kratos Aurion (Hard)
This time, he'll start the battle with Judgement. At low HP, he'll use Shining Bind, which can wipe out the party if everyone is too close to him. You don't have to win, but you should try in order to feed your ego and get an extra Ex Gem Lvl 4.
Win or lose, a bunch of angels will surround the party and throw everyone in prison. Fortunately, Regal's vow to never kill with his hands excludes jail bars.
