In this very eggciting game to watch, these two Quake eggxperts pound away at each other in a fantastic match - with all their playing viewpoints provided. This is one of the best matches I have seen so far.. but who will win?? bps who will stop your heart with his many "b"eats "p"er "s"econd or the ever hungry for frags Locust? Well noww.. you'll just have to straddle yourself for the ride partner and see this match here to find out ^_^

Date of game played: December 14th 2010 at 8:15 PM
(Quake before dinner is a-okay in my book anytime :D hehe)

-------------------------------------------------------
Challenge-Tv.com was a huge demo repository website from the year 2000s and probably the only one in existence (as I haven't really heard of many others). It hosted many demos for competitive games (mostly FPS's) on its site where users could anonymously (without web-site registration) upload their demo files onto the site. The site trusted the uploader to input honest and correct information about the match, such as the gamer's country of origin, name of opponent played, and a brief description of what went on in the game. Therefore this site was used a lot to upload games between players and was even used to upload demos from historical gaming competition events such as some noticeable Quake tournament matches of Thresh (Dennis Fong), Fatality, Rapha, Cypher, Evil, Voo and other Quake celebrities.

I too used this site to look at some demos but I (and many others) never anticipated for it to suddenly go down and totally off the web one day. I was there near the days or before the week it happened and I remember some of the forum posts which I read prior to its downfall. Now, mind you that it has been over 20+ years so excuse me if everything is not entirely correct but this is what I do remember about it. Apparently there was some in-fighting among the site admins (I believe they were mainly 3, but I could be mistaken) and the site owner Don King. Don finally threatened to not pay the website's bill unless the dispute was solved. The dispute I think was about splitting the bill and Don's main complaint was that nobody was helping him pay the whole bill in full (which was about $500+/month, thus being a substantial sum). And so the site barely ran by donations which were pretty scarce too (and some measly ad revenue) and so he ended up paying most of the difference himself each month, something he was not very happy with at all. And his main point was that people didn't care if they were not going to actually support funding the site to stay up.

So that's it, a week later after I read all this, I return to the site to see what's going on and to download more demos maybe but there was no site no more. And it never came back either because I kept going back after that and still nothing, time after time. So just like that - it was like *poof! it was gone.. for good. I was in shock, I couldn't believe it. Because it was a pretty good thing and a big site, so I thought something would be done for it to stay up. I actually didn't take the forum posts too seriously thinking that, but to my utter disbelief the site did go down under. The plug was permanently pulled.

Thankfully I have kept up with the downloads and here are what I have salvaged from there, posted for your enjoyment. These are old games and converting demo files into watchable YouTube videos is quite a long, tedious and time consuming process which I undertook. My main problem is always that some of them come out too dark and almost each one must be processed by video editing software, which takes even longer *sigh. On top of that, the Quake client must be properly configured to play these files at a modern resolution and I'm not sure that everybody in this day and age knows all the technicalities of this and has the time (and patience lol) to actually go through these processes of getting a demo to play from a 30+ year old game (as time flies, you'll be reading this well into the future lol).

So sparing the viewer all these hassles, here are the games that went on during the 90s and 2000s played by good and professional players for your viewing pleasure & enjoyment :) Don't forget to like, comment if you like anything or have questions and subscribe so you can get notified about more cool upcoming stuff like this which will be posted on my channel here :)

Regards and happy viewing,
-Gem :)
