..plays Backbone -Prologue Edition- retro style pixel graphic adventure with talking furry animals

This is a game I didn't know I'd enjoy so much, Backbone is a very nice, colorful and immersive modern adventure game with a bit of action in it. One of it's biggest selling points to me are the awesomely detailed graphics which are a rare thing these days in adventure games where everything goes for an abstract look but to me that speaks of laziness because there is no attention to detail. But not so in Backbone, everything is magnificently detailed such as you can see in people's (well animals' - because this game features animals as characters here) apartments through the windows of their buildings and what they are doing in there. This gives the game world an immense sense of immersiveness and that you're like really there.
Besides this, the game features a very interesting and comfortable control scheme which uses FPS controls of WASD, SHIFT, SPACEBAR and E key to control the action along with the mouse. This gives the game a very connected feeling and that your actions are instantly read by the game, giving it a very fluid gameplay experience which makes you feel like you're the center of the action - pure genius!
The talking and dialogue are the center-piece of driving the action though and although at times it may seem that it drags out a little bit, but it's up to you which conversation paths you choose. Some lead to more background stories and some lead more straight to the action but regardless of what choices you make when talking to characters you are herded towards the same end-goal each time so the game might be worth a replay or two just to see the different dialogue trees and have some fun with the characters in doing so :o)
I had a very good time with this game and it's very memorable to me. I indeed purchased the full version which I caught on sale for about 24 dollars if I remember right, otherwise at full price the game retails for 40 dollars usually. Even though it can be considered a bit pricey, you won't feel the sting once you start playing the game. It is not a regretful purchase and I think the game-makers deserve every penny for their efforts in this very very enjoyable and unique game. Two thumbs up for me and 11/10 gems score-wise, for a very interesting game indeed! :-)
