Challenging Old-school Turn-based RPG - Let's Play: Wasteland 2 - Part 1 (Gameplay)
I have never fallen so hard in love with a game before... okay, I might be exaggerating - a little - but this game is GOOD!
I love turn-based games and this one is gritty; it's tough; and its hit chance and attack range don't make sense... like missing quite a number of shots at 75% (weapon';s hit rate is at 60+%) or not knowing what's the optimal attack distance for a weapon your character has equipped... P/S: standing right in front of the enemy and shooting him in the face doesn't get you 100% hit chance :/. There's also this annoying auto "camera snap back" that occurs whenever I make my team move.
Anyway, despite all its flaws (the game's very old after all and this is supposed to be a remaster?), it has that Fallout Tactics feel that I absolutely adore (the setting + theme + your dialogue choices matter + stats-driven) and I actually quite like the story.
In fact the game reminds me of a beta I've recently played - Dreadlands. That was a pretty good game too, minus the RNG-based hit chance.
**Note that Wasteland 2 is about to be removed from Origin Basic Access (March 20th I think?) so if you want to play the game, you should do it now.
