This week, and for another two, we will delve into the dark, mysterious world of Changeling: the Lost. Originally released in 2007, this game takes a sharp turn from the spiritual prequel, Changeling: the Dreaming in both tone and setting.

In this game, you play as a Changeling, a former human who has escaped Arcadia, and their Keepers, to make their way back to the human world. Neither truly human nor fae, the Changeling have to find their place in a world that they no longer fit into, all the while waiting with bated breath to see if your former masters will come to drag you back to their domain.

Changeling: the Lost is a game that uses your Durance and Keeper as a metaphor for abuse. and surviving it. It's a mature game with mature themes and it's one of the darkest games in the game lines of White Wolf / The Onyx Path. Some of its core themes, both mechanically and lore-wise, center on these themes and it is often an emotionally exhausting game to play, but ultimately very rewarding.
