Channel Update 15: The external hard drive situation
Yea I kinda wanted to post something like this sooner but I never really got around to it (obviously). But yea I can now say that this whole issue is now behind us in the channel history and uploads will likely resume as usual over the next week. The sad news is over 5 hours of video footage will probably never be seen again, granted I'm still a bit optimistic about somehow managing to recover what I've lost so I'll keep this malfunctioning hard drive around.
So yea to summarize what I've lost, it's over 3 hours of Borderlands 2 (from the quest to find Mordecai's treasure, the whole Zafford-Hodunk clan war side quest, and pretty much every side quest that we hadn't yet completed, including the first 3 rounds of the 5 round tournament in Fink's Slaughterhouse). No main story quests were done in that session, so I guess that's the one silver lining.
I also lost over an hour and a half of Skyrim, which I'm not as upset about because it was pretty much just random College of Winterhold side quests, such as using a spell scroll to hurt 3 Draugr, and retrieving a staff from a place I explored off screen a few months ago. I did however find a Stone of Barenziah in that session, in a tomb not far from the cave I found a stone in last session. So yea, that's really the only thing I kind of wish I could go back to but honestly I don't really think it's worth going back over an hour to my old save just to do those side quests again since they weren't really that important. I'll be sure to point out where the stone is in the next session anyways.
Suppose I should also mention that I already have a backup external hard drive so DO NOT try and send me money or games or stuff because you feel bad about what happened. HOWEVER, if you have any possible solutions to my hard drive problems then feel free to pitch them in the comments, because I'll be reading them as usual.
If you wanna know more about what to expect going up on my channel in the next few days/weeks, be sure to check out my blog: trigunxsword.blogspot.com for weekly updates on what I have recorded and for insight into future projects.
