Chapter 10 - Scorpion - To Hell and Back (Story Mode)
2CHAPTER 10: Our story shifts to Scorpion once again as we begin to wrap up our story. Delivering the crown to Kronika, she confirms that her armies are on the way to defend her as she begins to work on the hourglass.
With Jax having ruined the covert operation, Cassie questions Raiden about whether he should use Shinnok’s amulet considering their situation. The two wonder what happened to the Scorpion and Sub-Zero in the Netherrealm as our story shifts to them near the Sea of Blood.
Scorpion and Sub-Zero look upon a large bridge made by Cetrion to ferry across Kronika’s army. They come to the realization that Kharon must not be helping Kronika, meaning they could recruit him to their cause to ferry their men across the Sea of Blood. Scorpion sends Sub-Zero back to Earthrealm as he goes to talk to Kharon.
Approaching Kharon’s house, he sees the ferryman tied up by D’vorah. She looks to make him unfit to carry Kronika’s enemies, however Scorpion pulls her out the window with his spear and onto the battleground where they fight.
After taking out D’vorah, Elder Scorpion is ambushed by the Young version of himself from the past, and the two go head to head. After defeating his younger self, Elder Scorpion is able to appeal to his younger self’s love of his family, and the overall goals of Kronika to return Shinnok to life, the man who murdered his family. As he extends a hand to bring young Scorpion into the fold, D’vorah reappears behind elder Scorpion, stabbing him with a poison in her insect appendage.
Young Scorpion turns on his former ally, chopping off her 4 appendages, and she scurries away underground. Elder Scorpion tells his younger self of the plan, where he can be found, and to bring Khoran into the fold to ferry the armies to Kronika. Young Scorpion gives him his word that he’ll follow through on this promise, as the older Scorpion dies in his arms.
Back at the Shirai Ryu Fire Gardens, Sub-Zero and Liu Kang patrol the grounds, waiting for Scorpion to return. One does, only the one they know to be an enemy. While Scorpion ensures Sub-Zero that he’s here to help, he doesn’t believe him, and the two battle.
After taking down Sub-Zero, Raiden comes to the courtyard, still distrustful of this Scorpion’s intentions and words. The two fight. After this fight, the story abruptly shifts our protagonist to Raiden.
