When Link is hit, all he does is scream. He won't blink red, bend over in pain, or slide across the floor from being hit. It will be as if nothing happens. You will also be totally Fallproof. If Link falls a really long way down, he will land and act as if nothing happened. There are, however, 2 things that will affect Link: any type of Fire damage, and Blade Traps. They don't actually damage him, they INSTANTLY KILL him! Even though Fire kills you, Link can still walk on Lava. The sound of it trying to hurt Link will sound weird, but nothing bad will happen. If you blow yourself up with a bomb, then quickly pull out another one, Link will either automatically set it down, or automatically throw it. If Link is hit while climbing, he will still lose his grip, but he won't be sent flying away in agony. It's possible to recatch yourself on whatever you're climbing.
One really nice advantage to this code is the ability to walk right through Big Skulltulas, even through narrow passageways. Even though Green and Blue Bubbles are covered in fire, getting damaged by them won't instantly kill you like the Red Bubbles. If attacked by an enemy that puts Link into submission, like ReDeads/Gibdos, Baby Floormasters, even Like-Likes, it will cause Link to be stuck into the submissed animation, but you can still free yourself by pressing buttons.
Fighting Dark Link is actually an endless battle as he will be immune to all of your attacks, even Din's Fire. The only way out is through warping. Morpha's water tentacle submission attack won't cause any damage or kill you, but once it lets go, Link will fall straight down to the bottom of the water. Bongo Bongo will still be able to grab you and play with you like a toy, but he can no longer hold you and squeeze you until you're dead.
Fighting Twinrova is interesting because you are totally immune to Kotake's ice attacks, but one hit from Koume's fire attacks will instantly kill you.
There IS one exception to Fire and Blade Traps instantly killing you: Nayru's Love. Fire won't do anything, and Blade Traps will simply pass right through you as if Link was a ghost.
