♫CHARLIE'S THEME (Street Fighter Alpha 2) SNES Arrangement - NintendoComplete
This is an arrangement of Charlie's theme from Capcom's 1996 arcade game Street Fighter Alpha 2. I have arranged it for native playback on SNES hardware, and the audio was recorded directly from a launch-model SNES console.
While it is true that this song is already on the SNES, the Super Nintendo's port of Alpha 2's music sounded pretty awful. There was no reason for it to sound anywhere near as bad as it did. So, I figured, why not try it myself? And here's the result. Hope you like it!
I also did the fight intro and ending tunes. No real reason why but that I felt like it. The ending bit was unexpectedly difficult to put together, though - those rising string arpeggios that finish it off kicked my ass for quick minute until I figured them out.
I gotta say, I was surprised at reasonably similar it sounds to the arcade version, especially considering the only sample I used from it was the orchestra hit (and that sample alone was larger than the SPC's entire 64k of memory, so I had to butcher it hard to make it fit!)!
I've always personally found Charlie's theme to be way better than Guile's :) Or Nash's, if you'd prefer to call him that instead.
The video clips are from the SNES version of the game. If you'd like to see my playthrough of it, you can find it here: https://youtu.be/-vkJ8_tbRkc
