What would happen if two perfect checkers players played a game? If neither side made a single mistake, what would the result be? The bad news is, this game has been solved. In 2007, a group of scientists found a mathematical proof that effectively killed checkers. Like Tic Tac Toe, unless someone makes a ridiculous mistake, checkers will always end in a stalemate. Jonathan Schaeffer took 18 years to solve this which makes it one of the longest computations in History. So if you face his checkers A.I., you’ll never to better than a draw. So now you know.
