Checking Out The Sinclair ZX Spectrum Next N-GO (FPGA Clone)(overview & initial gameplay)
#zxnext #ngo #gameplay
The ZX spectrum has been immortalized by a wonderful group of people that created the ZXNext - the Spectrum as it might have evolved if it hadn’t been discontinued. It is a hardware compatible FPGA system that the team made available through kickstarter. I personally missed out on the first kickstarter but managed to get a KS2 machine.
As the project is open source available for regular purchase clones have been created and in this video I show the N-Go variant I purchased over at UltimateMister aka Retroshop.pt
I purchased it with my own funds and I did get three amazing goodies thrown in as bonus.
An MT32Pi Hat MIDI expansion board with display that can be seated on the user IO pins of a Raspberry Pi 3 or 4 and with a special USB 3.0 A to A cable can be hooked up to the MiSTer FPGA user port providing true MIDI sound in MT32 cable cores. It will get a separate video.
a light gun adapter for use with lightguns on the MiSTER FPGA
2nd issue of a high quality Spectrum centered Portuguese magazine with good articles and a great interview.
