Tinkering with Emulators on the M1 Mac Mini Base Model - Not Everything Goes Smoothly
#m1 #macmini #emulation
In this video I am keen on getting Videopac going on the M1 MacMini after watching a Livestream on the Videopac/Odyssey2 that the Shadowsnose and Thomaniac did last weekend. Dit work or did it fail?
The M1 Macmini has been out for a couple of years now. When it was released it was the best thing since sliced bread and the performance it gave for the price was simply amazing. Now the M1 CPU/GPU combination has been surpassed by the newer iterations and the latest Mac Mini sports the M4. Is the M1 MacMini just as good as when we first tried it out or has the software caught op and is the M1 actually struggling more then it used to? With more and more people probably using more powerful iterations of the Mac Silicon it could very well be that 'standard' Apple silicon has shifted to the higher tiers and emulators/games might not run as well on more anaemic hardware.
It could also be that I've gotten very spoiled by the performance of the M4 and that it is so good that the M1 being slower is noticed in a more negative way.
