Band of Defenders is a multi player (or single player) FPS shooter/tower defence game. It's a game where you can work with your friends instead of trying to blow their heads off. I don't know your friends but I hope that's a step up.

It has an easy to understand and quick tutorial then it's into the action. You start in the menu where you can unlock any crates you earn and outfit your character with any cosmetic items you may have unlocked. Then you choose the match type you want, I went with single player for the video, then off you go. Between each wave there is a timed building and crafting phase where you make your weapons and defences from the collection you have unlocked. The more crates you earn, the more you unlock.

The game is really well made and great fun to play. Most of the negative reviews are about quiet servers but they fail to mention the really large "invite friends" icon in the game. If they are that disappointed about the quiet servers, maybe they should loiter there themselves waiting for players. So basically, to avoid being like them, just have some friends ready to play and you'll have a great time.
As I said before, I played it in single player mode. It isn't really geared towards it but you can do it. It was harder and I had to level up a bit before I could start winning but I really enjoyed playing it. The graphics are fantastic and smooth playing despite the action being fast. The last wave in each level has a boss monster who really takes a beating.

The only issue I had was trying to find the upgrade tower option. You can see me in the video trying to find/remember the key to activate it until I give up and keep playing without it. Eventually I level up and get a crate containing the tower upgrade. From then on when I played it I was able to upgrade the tower several level but more importantly it also unlocked the ability to repair the towers. None of this was mentioned in the tutorial, only the hot key used once it's unlocked, so keep in mind it needs to be unlocked first then you won't get frustrated like I did.
