Hell Warders* is actually a really fun tower defense and third person hack'n'slash hybrid.

I didn't even realise it was a tower defense until it loaded but I'm a big fan of tower defense games so I was very pleased when I realised. In the game play you get a defense building stage before the enemy waves start but you can also place new defenses during the onslaught as long as you haven't hit your spawn limit which I thought was really cool. Then when it begins you get to join in the battle with your character and the perks you have unlocked for him.
By defenses I of course mean different types of troops from ranged wizards to pike carrying melee soldier who all need to be placed in a manner that protects your core from the demons. It isn't a walk in the park either, you will need to consider strategy if you want any chance of success.
