2021-12-21. Playing Chessmaster 2000 for MS-DOS, with my brother Matthew, while visiting home for Xmas 2021. This game runs in 320x200 x 4-color CGA mode. Running in DOSBox under normal CPU settings. The settings are:

- Level of Play = Newcomer mode (near instant move), vs. levels 1..12 which are timed number of moves per number of minutes
- Style of Play = coffeehouse (most varied moves), vs. Best move always, or Normal play
- Easy mode = ON (do not think when it's your move)
- Opening Book = OFF (do not use opening book)

5:46 - 16. Nc6 to double attack Rook and Queen, is white's first mistake.
8:41 - After 22. Re3, black plays 22... h6 which is black's first mistake.
12:17 - 25. Qe2 creates a Rook-Queen-Rook on the only open file on the board. I believe Fischer said this is called the "hammer", and this ordering of R-Q-R is the optimal order.
15:30 - 28. Bex7 - black loses its first piece. White has 4 attackers, and black has only 2 defenders (though the King and Queen could've been a 3rd).
20:00 - Better is 32. Qg3 threatening mate, which is Mate in 18.
20:33 - After 38. Bxb6 takes black's last piece, it is Mate in 16.
20:48 - After 43... Kc4, Chessmaster resigns. White has a Mate in 8.
21:39 - 51. Qbb2# checkmate.
