There are a few fanmade remakes of Chicken Invaders games on the PlayStation Portable that were written in Lua, but I wasn't aware of this one until now.

This game could be described as a remake of Chicken Invaders 2: The Next Wave, as the story, waves and graphics were mostly based upon it. There are a few additions from the person who made this that make it different.

There is only one weapon, the Ion Blaster, but it has 28 different power levels with 4 tiers of bullets. These power levels also keep alternating between focused fire and spread out bullets. Dying here is much less punishing, as it only takes away two power levels, but extra lives are scarce.

The waves here are sort of more repetitive. I've counted only 18 unique wave types here. There are way more waves with Eggs and Paratroopers here, and they often get repeated two or three times per chapter. Some waves were taken from Chicken Invaders 1, and others were more original.

The final chapter is completely different. It introduces "Fire Chickens", whose eggs explode at the bottom of the screen, making staying there much more dangerous.

My only other experience with PSP remakes was the atrocious port of Chicken Invaders 1, so this was a pleasant surprise. It's probably the best PSP remake out there.
