Part one of a complete playthrough of Chip 'n' Dale Rescue Rangers for the Nintendo Entertainment System by Capcom. Chip ( SunBurntKen http://www.youtube.com/sunburntken ) and Dale (MacDaddyNook) set out to rescue a lost kitten in the city.

Loosely based on the episode "Catteries Not Included," Zone 0 introduces players to the gameplay mechanics. Pressing the A Button allows players to jump (holding down while pressing A will let them hop down directly from higher platforms), while the B Button is used to lift and throw items, which is the primary attack in the game.

Throughout the level, players can find flowers and stars to collect. Collecting 100 flowers will create a glowing star that will float in from the left boundary of the screen and will grant the player an extra life when touched. Collecting 20 stars will reward the player also with an extra life. Acorns scattered throughout the level, often hidden in boxes and crates, can heal a player one to two hearts (the latter if the acorn is flashing).

Zone 0 starts off on a neighborhood street and makes its way up to the rooftops. The level continues upward to the power-lines, where players must avoid streams of electricity, until the reach the entrance to a laboratory. At the end of the stage, players must battle against Professor Nimnul's electrical generator to clear the level. To defeat the boss, players must dodge the lightning bolts and toss the red ball at the circle on top of the machine.
