Hey guys! I managed to get a Chivalry 2 Beta key for the weekend so I I jumped in for a few games on stream to find out what it felt like to play and to see how stable it was. Overall I was pleasantly surprised, I always did enjoy the first Chivalry and I enjoyed playing Mordhau which felt like a spiritual successor but now we have an Official Chivalry 2 to play and it's pretty great! :D

The combat feels a bit more casual then Mordhau, which was kind of nice to be honest and I really liked the blocking system and other subtle differences in the combat. Generally it feels really good, maybe a couple of weapons could do with a balance tweak but mostly I really enjoyed the combat. The class system is interesting, hopefully there will be more customization in the full release but I enjoyed playing medic, throwing out bandage kits. The down but not out system is cool too and shakes things up a bit in this kind of game. I like how different it felt to play while still being familiar. The maps are great too, I enjoyed the objective modes and hopefully there will be even more to play in the future. I feel like these games live and die on the number of interesting maps and weapons they have so hopefully the developers will just keep adding more and more to it over time. It'll also be nice for Mordhau to have some competition as I feel like recent updates on that game have been a bit lackluster. In any case it's nice to have another medieval warfare game to play.

I wasn't doing too well at the start of this match but rather than edit it down I thought I'd leave it up in its entirety. I start getting into it towards the end though, probably because I starting ignoring the archers and started playing the objectives but yeah, feel like I played pretty well overall.

I think playing the beta has certainly made me interested in playing more of this but since it is an Epic exclusive for a year it won't be till I can pick it up on Steam next year. Plenty of stuff to play in the meantime though but I'm sure I'll return to Chivalry in the future. :)
