Chkdsk Stuck at Particular % Or Hangs at Some Stage in Windows 11/10 [Solution]

Commands Used:
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
sfc /scannow

CHKDSK command is a great Windows built-in tool that checks and repairs drive errors and bad sectors. You can also use this command to check issues on a slow or frequently freezing computer.

If you find that Check Disk or ChkDsk is stuck at a particular percentage or hangs at some stage in Windows, then this tutorial will offer some troubleshooting steps that may help you. It could be 10%, 12%, 27% or any such percentage. Again, it could be stages 2, 4, 5 or any such.

Issues addressed in this tutorial:
chkdsk stuck at 0 percent
chkdsk stuck at 100 percent completed
chkdsk stuck at 10 percent
chkdsk stuck at 100 percent windows 10
chkdsk stuck at 11 percent windows 10
chkdsk 0 percent completed
chkdsk stuck at 11 percent
chkdsk /r stuck at 100
chkdsk stuck at 20 percent
chkdsk stuck at stage 4 windows 10
chkdsk stuck at 17 percent

When your PC starts running slower and slower, you may opt to run chkdsk to check and repair any drive errors for better performance. If your computer's operating system is Windows 8 or Windows 10 or Windows 11, and you ran chkdsk, you may have encountered a frustrating situation in which it looks as if chkdsk has stopped working. The progress percentage has stalled for a long time—so long, that you can't tell if the whole thing has frozen up.

In most cases, chkdsk is still running. The problem is, in Windows 8 and Windows 10, Microsoft changed the appearance of the chkdsk display. It no longer shows you what exactly is going on the way earlier versions did.

This tutorial will apply for computers, laptops, desktops, and tablets running the Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems (Home, Professional, Enterprise, Education) from all supported hardware manufactures, like Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Toshiba, Lenovo, Alienware, Razer, MSI, Huawei , Microsoft Surface, and Samsung.
