Yeah, kind of Jason's fault for how he spawned on day 3, was 2 seconds ahead of my PB on day 2, almost a second behind my PB, and 0.8s ahead of record despite being a second behind on day 1 due to some bad item spawns and a bad note collection in the woods. Jason gave me bad luck his first spawn on day 3, but if I'd not missed a throw on the last encounter in the woods I would've at least finished with a 2:52. I almost never get that kind of spawn on day 3 so it really threw me off.

This means a high 2:50 may have been possible if day 3 was perfect, but low 2:51 is more realistic. All I know is it could happen any time. It just depends if the game wants to give me the luck, and if it does, if I have the execution. Was 0.8s behind record end of day 1, 1.4s ahead of my current PB despite the blips, so there was potential to be 2s ahead which would've put me ahead of record. While timing throws is faster, it's easier to miss some throws than someone who mashes.

Day 2 was absolute perfection, I've never had better spawns and screen scrolls, that's where WR lost the most time. Of course on day 3 I get a pattern more likely to happen on day 2.

Was actually 2 seconds behind record when I collected the torch. I didn't have to veer my jump back for the key, you have 2 chances for a good spawn but you can lose more time if the 2nd one doesn't spawn. The knife was usually spawning higher, but the lower one means I shouldn't jump right away anymore.

The bad item and note collection were the main issues that cost me time on day 1 to be 1.4s behind PB. I gained the almost second to record back on day 1 because my throws were faster. Didn't connect the dots until I looked closer, it's my throws which are why I'm getting close to it despite still having errors with paths or grabbing items. This gives me some leeway, but record still isn't exactly easy. 2:49 is definitely possible but is difficult to get both the perfect luck and execution, I don't plan on going for that right away if I even do, but it's tempting considering it's sub 2:50. A run like that would last a very long time, even a 2:50 might.

The items on day 1 usually aren't an issue for me, or pressing up instead of select in the cabin before selecting the note which is a first. NES d-pad is just so old and stiff and considering I've practiced on things with a better d-pad it doesn't translate well when I come back to this. I think I'm about fully derusted now.
