At long last, after many weeks, we have finally cornered the enemy and forced them to make a last stand. Everything is on the line here as we clear out the enemy's stronghold and do our final battles. Gaga has to answer for the things he's done and so does everyone who allied alongside him. And if this requires us to summon Impact for one more epic showdown, so be it.

And with this, Chroma Squad's first of three endings is complete. Since I don't want to spend the time to replay the game from scratch to get the other two, I'm going to be holding off on returning to this game until New Game+ is implemented so that I can speed through it for the two remaining endings (Tammy and Masked Rider). Hopefully by then the mecha battles will have been reworked into something truly impressive and the game will be better than it already is. Now that the dust has settled, I have to admit that this is one of the more interesting and fun SRPGs that are available on Steam. The way things are set up means you are not forced to grind for levels (materials could have been handy), which alleviates one of the major time sinks for RPG games. Unfortunately, I have to admit that the crafting system is fairly underpowered as the shop equipment tends to be superior at most points throughout the game. While the mecha fights are fairly one-dimensional, this is something being addressed, so I am not holding it against the devs. And enemy variety may be a little lacking, but none of the bosses are quite the same and it does hold true to sentai shows how the fodder enemies are constantly recycled to lower costs.

For those that are interested in the genre, I definitely recommend picking up this game. In the event that you don't want to pay full cost for it now, the Steam summer sale is only a few weeks away, and you might be able to get a small discount for it. Then you won't have an excuse for picking up one of the more impressive indie games released this year.
