Chrono Cross 60 FPS Gameplay Test with High-res Textures
So after hours of tinkering and research, I've managed to get Chrono Cross looking this good. Using RetroArch with the Beetle PSX HW core, I am able to load custom textures into the game. Shout out to reddit user Tiriosaurus for dumping all of the game's textures and running them through an AI upscaler! The game is running at 8x native resolution using the Vulkan renderer, and the PSX CPU overclock is set to 350%. I've also enabled 4x MSAA, PGXP Operation Mode, GTE Overclock, and I've set CPU Dynarec to Max Performance.
It is not perfect, as you can see when selecting elements in-battle. Everything else seems to be working perfectly fine (I have played up to this point in the game with no issues). I also have JINC2 texture filtering enabled for some added sharpness, I've noticed with xBRZ you get this weird menu lag that was infuriating at times. I'm going to try to copy down all of the exact settings I'm using, but please feel free to ask me any questions about my setup in the comments.
