Chuck Rock (PAL) Part 1 On SEGA Mega Drive

480p is recommended for best Quality.

Unga Bunga! Chuck Rock's wife, Ophelia has been captured by that no-good Gary Gritter. Can Chuck hump and belly-butt his way through five increasingly challeging stages, each one packed with dozens of deranged dinosaurs and surprises galore? Or is his love destined to end up on the rocks?

The setting of the game is a fantasy prehistorical Stone Age-era world that is shared by both neanderthals, woolly mammoth, saber-tooth tigers, dinosaurs, and various assorted wild primeval monsters such as prehistoric mammals, giant insects, man-eating plants, and other exotica; thus, the setting is similar to that of films such as One Million Years B.C., or television shows such as The Flintstones or Dinosaurs.

The eponymous Chuck Rock is an overweight, square-jawed caveman characterized by loutish and lewd behaviour perhaps influenced by the lad culture of the 1990s. Chuck has a limited vocabulary (his favourite phrase being "Unga Bunga" and not much else), has a balding head cut into a punk-style mohawk, eats whole dinosaur-steaks raw in one bite, and has a penchant for picking up rocks and throwing them at things, hence his name. Chuck is a lead guitarist in his rock band along with Gary Gritter on drums, his foxy blonde wife Ophelia Rock on rhythm guitar and hammond organ, and a long-haired green dinosaur bass player; and whilst on stage he wears a long wig and sunglasses to hide his balding head.

The music is very well done in this game, you're actually hearing real musical instruments through out the game such as bass, rhythm & lead guitars, drums and an authentic 1960's groovy hammond organ aswell as various other synth sounds all synthesized into the Mega Drive's FM-YM2612 sound chip by marvellous mr. bassman Matt Furniss using Shaun Hollingworth's sound driver.

Chuck Rock is not a game to put high on a Pedestal like such classics as Sonic The Hedgehog and Mario but it's by no means a terrible game either. Chuck Rock is more like Bubsy The Bobcat, Zero The Kamikaze Squirrel and Zool Ninja Of The Nth Dimension, games that tried to dominate the gaming industry of the early 1990's but all failed in some way or another leaving Mario and Sonic in the lead.
