The Original Game Boy is one of the biggest 'game changers' in the history of video games, and essentially ushered in the popularity of handheld games. There are many games that will be classic forever. There are, however, a much, much higher number of simply awful, forgettable, or downright weird games. CiB Game Boy Theater shows you some of the games you might not (and shouldn't be...) familiar with.

Although Goal! released for the NES in 1989, it took until 1993 to receive a Game Boy port, which is fairly odd considering the Game Boy was ultra-popular at its release in 1989. It's an arcade type soccer game that goes for simplicity, which is a good fit for the Game Boy. I was getting wrecked in my few minutes playing it, but it's a nice pick up and play game. NEXT!

R-Type, released in 1991 by IREM, is a port of the Turbo-Grafx 16 version of the same game -- neat! Although the Turbo-Grafx version obviously has better graphics and sound, the Game Boy version emulates it fairly well, albeit a bit slower in terms of gameplay. This is an impressive port, and is highly suggested for any shooter fans!

Apologies about the video cutting out near the end. It's the first time our new PC just randomly restarted while recording, but I can promise I beat that 2nd boss without dying (eventually lol). Thanks for watching!
