CiB Let's Try - NFL Quarterback Club '97 (PS1) - The BIG GAME!!!
NFL Quarterback Club '97 was released on the PS1 on August 31, 1996 -- it also received versions on the Sega Saturn and PC around the same day. It was developed by Iguana Entertainment -- which later became Acclaim Studios Austin -- and they are known for Aero the Acro-Bat, NBA Jam, Turok 64, South Park 64, and a bunch of sports games. It's weird that they made some pretty highly-acclaimed (!!!) games, but were relegated to sports game duty for the longest time. The game was published by Acclaim, who was kinda like the LJN of the 90's.
Overall, NFL Quarterback Club '97 is just about what you expect from a football game on the PS1. It's a relatively early PS1 release, so I cut it a lot of slack, but the biggest problem is moving the football. Offense is very weird, and we couldn't get the hang of it in these 15 minutes of gameplay. Still, it looks nice, has all the real teams and players, and plays rather well.
