Time Slip was released in November 1993 as a Super Nintendo exclusive. It was developed by Sales Curve Interactive (SCi), who would eventually become part of Eidos, and then part of Square Enix. SCi also developed (whether under SCi or another name) Futurama, Constantine, and the Conflict games, all for the PS2 generation of systems. Time Slip was published by Vic Tokai, who also published Kool Kid (NES), Decap Attack (Genesis), and the Krion Conquest (NES).

This is another fairly uncommon game (at least in our area) that isn't expensive. Why? Well, it's not very good, of course!

Truth be told, Time Slip is better than I expected, at least. It's clearly a Contra clone, but unlike other Contra clones, Time Slip actually plays (kinda) like Contra. You're able to shoot in all 8 directions, and you can jump and shoot all 8 directions. So many Contra clones are extremely limited in how they play, so I give Time Slip credit here.

That being said, this still isn't a very good game. It plays about 50% too slow. The bosses take -way- too many hits. Most importantly, there are no continues and no password support (that I saw, anyway). It's nice that they give you 9 lives, but what's the point if there are no continues and one single boss can take 5-6 of your lives? You can definitely play way worse on the SNES, but I'd probably recommend this one only with save states so you can just keep loading until you get past areas unscathed. Thanks for watching!
