Citadel's illegal shorting has been covered up for some time, however, it is now all slowly unravelling...
Wolverine Asset Management has been hit with tons of mismarking violations, in order to mismark trades, Wolverine would need a Market Maker's help. Wolverine also own the office next door to citadel and even use Citadel's trading platform.
Therefore, its likely that Wolverine are using Citadel as a partner to commit fraud and mismark shorted shares as the sale of long positions, or, Wolverine could actually be the front for Citadel!
