Well, after grinding for a bit after getting murdered by Demoria, I changed my strategy around a bit. Unlike The Dark Spire (dungeon crawler on DS), where magic was essential, magic isn't worth much against single targets. So the plan was to launch a full out offensive from the get go using strong physical attacks and Burst Fire. With this strategy, I swapped out some of the equipment for my back row. My Wizard now wields a Light Crossbow+9 with Blood Hama Arrows+8. My Devout wields an Ivory Rod. I couldn't find anything for my Cleric that was very good, so I changed her class to a Warrior (which is probably something I should have done for a while, since she is a Drake), and gave her an Atomic Hammer+2 that I picked up from a random battle, and crafted for her a Vulcan Hammer+6.

This is a good example of how not to design a final boss. If you don't defeat her within the first or second turn of either form, you've lost. Demoria's first form heals anywhere from 100 to 300HP after her turns and her second form heals around 400HP per turn. If you do enough damage to counteract that, you would have won by the second turn. Contrapositively (probably not a word), if you haven't won by the second turn, then you will not be able to do enough damage to defeat her ever. Combined with the fact that she will probably take out one character a turn (unless maybe you're level 50+), you have no hopes of winning a war of attrition with Demoria. Of course, in this video, she looks like an insultingly easy boss because I defeat her in 1 turn for each form.

As for the game itself, I really liked the gameplay and the art style, but it just makes some rather obnoxious design decisions, which I'll summarize with 5 quick points.

1. Death is only potentially permenent (based on luck, as far as I know)
2. Stat growths are based on race, not major.
3. Skills are forgotten upon changing majors.
4. While you always gain HP on level up, you can lose stats on level up.
5. Stone Gaze and Stun Gas traps = instant defeat if you're unlucky.

Other than that, the story is rather poor, but then again, I'm not expecting much of a story from dungeon crawlers anyways.
