Story: Rishie made a tweet telling us to name a Vocaloid song that doesn’t exist and the title “Clinically Insane” came to mind for some reason. I jokingly said that it should be a song, but Rishie encouraged me to make it real. So at a snail’s pace, I wrote the lyrics and came up with the melody. I projected my insane mind into the lyrics, though I wasn’t exactly born with it; the trauma I experienced, the people that surrounded me, and the mental illness I inherited from my family created my insanity. Being mentally ill comes with no local friends or fake friends, intrusive thoughts, and crippling depression free of charge. It’s a lonely life I didn’t ask for and this year has proven to me that people either want to use me or just don’t care enough for me. At least locally. This world wasn’t made with neurodivergent people in mind. Some of us can’t drive so we hardly go outside and make friends. The suicide rates of neurodiverse individuals are pretty high because of how the world expects you to live. In short, this song is about being mentally ill in a world that doesn’t love you.
