Close up walkthrough of the Aperture Science PC 3.1
Some have requested this and figured it may be helpful to those in the future since I get comments on my videos almost daily. Didn't expect it to get around as much as it did. A big thank you for your interest and kind words.
As promised in the video, this is a OneDrive shared folder containing the code on the arduino, schematics and closeup shots of the arduino+audioFX wiring and the xbox one adapter mod, and a PiZero image for the video loop on the front panel. If this link ever stops working, leave a comment and I will update it. If there's anything missing or unclear, comment and ask and I will do my best to explain and/or update the files in the OneDrive with photos.

This is a link to the website where I learned how to make the reactive bias lighting on my monitor.

Also wanted to clarify something about the opto-isolators. The opto on the left is taking the 3.3V LED signal from the xbox adapter as input, it outputs 5V to that series of logic chips. The logic chips then output a 5V signal to the opto on the right which then drives the 12V LED in the button accordingly. The purpose of the optos is to isolate the voltages and grounds from each of the other stages and basically act as relays to input a signal to the next stage. Now, you of course would THINK that the ground on each is ultimately common since it all ties back to the PSU right? Evidently not. If you allow the voltages to be common, for whatever reason the logic circuit completely fails to function.
Overall this mode was a lot of trial and error, brute force, cobbling together example code online, and the help of some very smart folks on the Adafruit forums and various reddit groups. The Adrafruit product pages for things like the Neopixels and AudioFX board are also instrumental in getting this going. This mod was born when I was a total novice with these components. Google is also your friend when trying how to determine how to make something happen in code. Hope this helps you make something like this for yourself and like I said, I'm happy to respond to questions in the comments and I'll do my best to help.
