Recently on Movie Talk we discussed the fact that the Tom Cruise film JACK REACHER is getting a sequel and now it appears they may have found their female lead to star alongside of Cruise. According to TheWrap, AVENGERS and CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER star Cobie Smulders is now in negotiations with Paramount to appear in JACK REACHER 2 and will reportedly be playing a character named Danika. The sequel will be based on the Jack Reacher novel NEVER GO BACK in which Reacher (Cruise) goes back to his old Virginia military base to have dinner with a female colleague who he learns has been arrested, and soon, Reacher finds himself being charged with crimes himself. Once again, he needs to learn the truth the way that only Jack Reacher knows how, which often means violence.
