Cobwebs are an interesting thing: Spiders build those things to capture bugs and other insects and trap them. In Minecraft, there are not many bugs to capture... Silverfish, maybe. But hey, in Minecraft, you get to place down those cobwebs to slow things down, and uhh, it does really weird.
