CoCo Cosmic Aliens 0.18a preview - Playing in the Rain!
6So the sneak peek at version 0.18 showed off the fact I had an asteroid shower routine, and the asteroids could shower down, but that was it.
Today I:
Added joystick and spaceship movement routine
Added collision detection between meteors and your ship
Added laser shot routine, lasers stop when they hit a rock
Added UFOs you get points for hitting those.
The frame rate is much better than the main aliens game loop, and there are 16 asteroids on screen at all times, I'm updating and checking 4 objects for movement and collisions every cycle, and things are pretty quick! Now, what to do?
How do you win or end this phase? I'm thinking either a timer, or a counter, so either you have to survive for a specific period of time, or you must destroy a certain number of UFOs to end the level.
Love to hear some suggestions on how to end this.
