COD: Advanced Warfare XIM 4 Gameplay: EPM3: Best HC Weapon in AW?
21The EPM after the 12/4/14 patch really helped this poor, near useless weapon in COD: AW. I will still say that I will not use this weapon unless I am playing in a hardcore playlist. The 3 biggest reasons are as follows:
1. It is a 1 hit kill at ALL ranges in Hardcore. There is no gun except the snipers, launchers, RW-1, Crossbow and the shield/knife melee that can 1 hit kill in hardcore if the shot was not a headshot (Atlas-45 & MK14 EBR are 1 hit headshots at long range)
[UPDATE: Base variant Ameli LMG and Base AE4 DLC Laser Rifle can now 1 shot kill in hardcore at all ranges after the 12/4 patch. Also refer to the Den Kirson forums for up to date weapon stats for all variants now! Links on the bottom]
2. The firerate cap is at 1200 RPM. Bear in mind that the gun overheats if you shoot too fast. Be careful since that can bite you in a multi-engagement.
3. It is not a projectile! This weapon, despite the laser shot animation appearing to look like a projectile is being shot is just cool looking. That is it! Just point and shoot just like any hitscan weapon and you will connect. No need to fire ahead of the target.
Its biggest flaws are still evident in the lack of overall mobility when you run and gun and even with the ADS buff, you will still need the quickdraw handle if you end up in a pinch in CQB. It also has a bit of idle sway which can hinder long range shots. The gun kicks upwards pretty high as well.
Overall: Statistically, this is what the MK14 EBR should of been! a 3 (4 in extreme range) hit kill machine in core and a 1 hit kill in hardcore at all ranges.
