Doom 2016 is developed by id Sofware and published by Bethesda and is a straight up throwback to the original 1993 Doom and MANY other games of that era...and I love that. The gameplay and mechanics are really fun, the game shows some self aware humor...not overtly, fairly small things like throwing the screen away in the beginning. Silly stuff.
In doom you play Doom Guy, you fight wave after wave of hordes of demons from Hell with tons of different types of weapons (nothing too creative or new as far as I've seen) that you don't even have to reload! The single player campaign doesn't really stop, there are slow moments for sure, but you don't always have to pay attention...except for the times you're locked in a room
There's even a Doom Multiplayer...which I will likely never play. BUT never say never, I might get curious one day.
In the end, I'm loving Doom (2016) and I'm pretty glad I had to start recording it because I lost like 5hrs of Remember Me footage.
