Collecting Caustic Tissue Samples & unlocking the caustic sink // Elite Dangerous
83Welcome, Commanders! In this video, we'll be discussing the process of collecting Caustic Tissue Samples in the Thargoid Maelstroms, a dangerous and challenging task in Elite Dangerous but one needed for the Caustic Sink.
Firstly, it's important to ensure that you have the proper equipment and preparation for this venture. Make sure to have a ship equipped with an engineered corrosion-resistant hull, a good set of weapons, and sufficient corrosive-resistant cargo space. Additionally, bringing along an enhanced xeno scanner and a research limpet controller (at the very least) and also discovery scanner will help you locate the Thargoid Maelstroms more easily.
Once you've arrived at a Thargoid Maelstrom, it's crucial to approach with caution. Thargoid interceptors will be present, so you'll need to either stealthily stay away form them or engage them in combat to clear the area before proceeding with your sample collection.
When it's safe to do so, target the caustic tissue located on the caustic generator body and use a research limpet controller to extract the sample. Be careful not to linger too long, as the Thargoids will quickly become hostile again once they sense that you are attacking them.
Collecting enough Caustic Tissue Samples will allow you to research and engineer new technologies such as the caustic sink that will help you in your battles against the Thargoids. But remember, this is a high-risk venture that requires a skilled and well-prepared commander.
