At an event last night at Blumhouse Pictures, producer Jason Blumhouse announced legendary Master of Horror director John Carpenter will executive produce a new movie in the Halloween series. Miramax and Blumhouse Productions are co-financing production of the project with longtime series producer Malek Akkad overseeing the project under his Trancas International Films banner. No other details have been revealed on whether it’s a straight reboot, spin-off or continuation of the previous series, Blumhouse and Carpenter are aiming for a Halloween, 2017 release date.
Joss Whedon may be on a break from Marvel movies, but that doesn’t mean he’s slowing down. But it was not to be. D’Onofrio took to social media in order to debunk the rumor.
