For those familiar with the home version, there are several differences from its gameplay from the arcade adaption (ignoring the graphical differences):

- The arcade version lacks the items that are won upon beating certain opponents. This means that the player must win with skill alone and will not have any "emergency resources" to back them up.

- Flashing gems (created after making a chain of 3 or more) are omitted in the arcade version.

- The attack counter for the arcade version has an increased limit of 50 in comparison to the home version's maximum of 30.

- The first three enemies (Spider, Bat, and Skeleton) are only accessible in "Practice" route and omitted altogether in other routes.
